Eva Mae Circo

Eva Mae (Redfield) "NANNY" Circo, 91 of Marlborough, passed away at the age of 91 on April 18, 2020 in UMass Memorial Hospital after contracting the PANDEMIC COVID-19 VIRUS while in Long Term Care at The Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center, Westborough MA.  She was like all the other CORONAVIRUS VICTIMS DYING WITHOUT ANY FAMILY MEMBERS BEING ALLOWED TO BE THERE BY HER SIDE AS SHE PASSED AWAY.

Thank you to all the wonderful, caring, compassionate and professional doctors and nurse's trying to comfort them as best as they can. They never thought they would have to step in replacing their families at their bedsides as they pass away. We will be forever grateful for their comforting, caring and their professionalism when we could not. I know that Eva was very much cared for since being admitted to the COVID-19 UNIT. We always thought she would die from natural old age, not from a PANDEMIC that hit us globally infecting millions and killing thousands.

Eva was the wife of deceased Joseph L. Circo who passed away April 6, 2008 after being married for 62 years. Since his passing Eva had lived with her daughter, Deborah, and her husband Robert Waple in Marlboro ugh, MA, until July 10, 2019 when she required long term care at The Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center in Westborough MA.

Eva was preceded in death by her parents; Harry B. and Priscilla (Alexander) Redfield. Her siblings; Beatrice (Redfield) Bell, Dorothy (Redfield) Anderson, Harriet "Betty" (Redfield) Carpenter and brother, Harry Redfield. Her children; Eva Mae (Circo) Zalneraitis Roettger, Joanne Michael (Circo) Oberist, granddaughter, Amy E. Circo who passed away December 2009. Eva never got over the passing of Amy who was her best friend and "PAL".

Eva is survived by her daughters; Deborah L. Waple, wife of Robert Waple, Marlborough MA, Priscilla L. Circo, Love Land, Colorado, Scott Bell, Worcester MA, whom Eva and Joe brought up as their son. 10 Grandchildren, 11 Great-Grandchildren, and 1 Great-Great Grandson, and several Nieces and Nephews.

Eva worked as a short order cook at; Grants, Marion Gibbs, Yankee Whaler, and a manager at Colonial Variety Store in Boylston MA before retiring to be "NANNY" to all her grandchildren and their friends. She was known for generations of the "Candy Apple Lady" of Hamilton Street, Worcester Ma.  She loved Halloween making over 250 candy apples each year. The trick or treat children would be lined up with their parents asking Eva for one for themselves. Then the children's children brought theirs. It made Eva so happy seeing them every year. When she ran out, she would have her children run to the store to buy more apples while she'd whipped up more batches. She never let anyone down. Eva always gave of herself, never asking for anything in return.

She was one of the best Italian cooks (even though not being Italian) she was known for her; Spaghetti and Meatballs (with raisins) and sausages, Lasagna, Veal/Eggplant Parmesan. You could smell the aroma of it cooking from the sidewalk. Eva baked several cakes, both birthday and weddings. Always knitting and crocheting among all her doll making and lovely crafts.  She most loved the casino's!!  Deborah and Robert would bring her almost every weekend for the past ten years until July 2019 when she became totally blind and unable to walk.  She would have dreams of winning the "BIG ONE" only so she could financially take care of her entire family.  However, she was very lucky winning just enough to keep her playing.  Eva will be sadly missed by all her family and friends, but never forgotten.

NANNY, you are loved as we've been so blessed to have had you for so many years. You never wanted to live if you totally lost your eyesight. However, being the "STRONG WOMAN" that you are, you showed everyone in the nursing home that you could do anything even being blind and unable to walk on your own. You dressed and undressed yourself, used your broken-down legs to maneuver your wheelchair across the room to the bathroom. You washed yourself as best as possible, feed yourself even if some of the staff didn't describe, cut or lift covers off your dinner plates, you still managed. Mom, YOU'RE OUR HERO!!! So now that your eyesight is gone, and your body is all tired and worn out, it's time for you to rest in peace in Heaven. Your family will be waiting for your arrival with open arms.

I'm so grateful for Rebekah and Emily's weekly two to three-hour visits as well as taking her out for lunches. She sat in her wheelchair anxiously waiting to show off her two grandsons, Samuel Stowe (Navy) and Anthony Rowell (Air Force) who took the time to visit while home on leave. She was so proud of them. And for Scott who loved her so much visiting every day until his vehicle broke down but called her daily. She loved the visits and calls from all her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Eva's life was centered on her grandchildren to whom she loved so very much: Christina, Colleen, Joseph, Johanna, Rebekah, Sarah, Aubrey, Jamie, Ryan, and Catherine. She loved showing off her great-grandchildren. She was so happy when her granddaughter Christina became a "NANA" to her son Westley's son giving her a great-great grandson. She was now the proud grandmother of five living generations and had the opportunity to hold him. That made her very happy, as did her grandson Joseph Cheever's family who spent Christmas having dinner with her at the nursing home .

The Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center, Westborough MA treated our family with comfort, care and professionalism. Thank you for being there through that most difficult ordeal of placing my mother in your facility.

NANNY, you were one of a kind. You are so loved and will be sadly missed by all your loving family. Just know that you will always be deep in our hearts and souls and will never be forgotten.
