Florence M. (Gabriel) Lapriore, 93, of Worcester, passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at The Coleman House in Northborough. Her husband, Pasquale Lapriore, predeceased her in 2014.
Florence is survived by her devoted sons, Michael L. Lapriore and his wife Gail of Shrewsbury and Mark J. Lapriore and his wife Tammra of Charlton; four grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Matthew, Ashley, and Michael; a sister-in-law, Joan Gabriele of Worcester; many nieces and nephews, including Joseph Scampini of Worcester, who was more like a brother to Florence. She was predeceased by a sister and five brothers, Mildred “Millie” Stapor, Leonard, Chester, Kenneth, Roy, and John Gabriel. Florence was born in Worcester, daughter of the late, Frank and Mary (Belsito) Gabriel, and has lived here all her life.
Florence worked for over twenty years in the House Keeping Department at Worcester State Hospital. She was a member of Our Lady of Loreto Church and loved to be surrounded by her family.
Calling Hours will be on Thursday, January 18, from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester, followed by a procession departing at 11:15 a.m. enroute to an 11:30 a.m. Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Loreto Church, 33 Massasoit Road, Worcester. Interment will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Patient Activity Fund at The Coleman House, 112 West Main Street, Northborough, MA 01532.
