Frank Musci

Frank Musci, 96, of Auburn, passed away on Sunday, August 1, 2021, at Saint Vincent Hospital. He is re-united with his beloved wife of fifty-six years, Shirley B. (Flynn) Musci, who predeceased him in March 2005.

Frank is survived by his loving daughter, Maria E. Laverty and her husband Paul of Auburn; two granddaughters, Kelly Ann Worden and her husband Jon of Boston and Ashley Laverty of Chicago; a dear friend, Eleanor O’Connor of Shrewsbury; two brothers, Sergio “Sam” Musci of Florida and Tony Cimellaro of Pennsylvania; nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by four brothers, Leo Musci, Larry Musci, Daniel Musci, and Peter Cimellaro.  He was also predeceased by his step mother, Josephine Musci.  Frank was born in Worcester, son of the late, Antonio and Maria (DePasquale) Musci.  He graduated from Worcester Boys Trade and attended Boston University.

Frank proudly served his nation in the United States Navy during World War II.  He was stationed in the Pacific Theatre aboard the U.S.S. Auburn where he was a radioman 2^nd class.  Frank was extremely proud of his service in the Navy.  He was the longest active member and Past Commander of Eastside Post 201 American Legion.  Frank participated with fellow Post Members in many local and statewide parades.  He was dedicated to remembering and honoring Veterans during the Memorial Day Flag Placing Campaign at Saint John’s Cemetery.

He worked for many years as sales manager for Noar’s Oil, before retiring in 1986. He had previously worked for Bellis Oil Company, Reed Prince, and Crompton Knowles.  He was a long-time member of Saint Peter’s Church in Worcester.

Always wearing a smile, never forgetting a face, and having friendly words of encouragement, Frank was a true gentleman in every sense of the word.  He always brought happiness with him, especially when surrounded by his family and friends.  He enjoyed travel, dining out, playing cards with his friends, and going to summer concerts.  Frank was a long-time supporter of the Salisbury Singers of Worcester.

Frank’s family would like to thank the staff at Oakdale Nursing Home for their kind and compassionate care with a special thank you to his nurse Debbie and Physician Assistant Wynford.

Calling Hours will be on Thursday, August 5, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester.  His Funeral will be on Friday, August 6, from the funeral home, departing in procession at 9:30 a.m. for a 10 a.m. Funeral Mass at Saint Peter’s Church, 931 Main Street, Worcester.  Interment with Military Honors will follow at Saint John’s Cemetery, Worcester. 

Members of Eastside Post 201 will gather at the funeral home on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. to conduct their ritual.
