Frederick Gothing

Frederick C. Gothing, 88, of Boylston, MA passed away April 5, 2022, after a period of declining health. He was the beloved husband of 67 years to June (Chapdelaine), and the loving father of Frederick Gothing Jr., who predeceased him in 2013, Ken Gothing (Siony), Gary Gothing (Jacqueline), Diane Jepson, and Eric Gothing (Susan). He leaves behind 11 grandchildren: Jason, Pamela Kent (Nathan), Sarah, Chanae, Shana, Chiann, Erin Ruiz (Robert), Amy, Grant (Lindsay), Kathleen Brunelle (Nick), and Matthew Jepson, as well as 4 great-grandchildren: Olivia, Mila, Anthony, and William. Four siblings also mourn his loss: Charles, Janice Shuler, Elaine DeCouto, and Carol McCarthy. In addition to his son, Frederick was predeceased by a brother, Alan.

Frederick lived his entire life in Boylston and was the definition of a hardworking family man. He purchased his property and built his own house, where he stayed until he was physically unable. At times, he worked 2-3 jobs at once to provide for his family. When he was able, he relished time spent working in the yard and tending to his pet dogs, cats, birds, and chickens. He also immensely enjoyed vacationing to the shores of Maine.

Services for Frederick will be private at the convenience of the family.
