Fulvia (Bruno) D’Amico, 97, of Worcester, passed away on Sunday, December 15, 2024, at Notre Dame Long Term Care, surrounded by her loving family. Her husband, Alexander D’Amico, predeceased her in September 2003.
Fulvia is survived by her daughter, Dolores M. Anderson and her husband Donald of Worcester; two cherished granddaughters, Adrienne Anderson and her husband Jack Walsh, and Roxanne Anderson and her fiancé Rowan Krishnan; several nieces and nephews in New York, Italy and Canada. She was predeceased by six siblings. Fulvia was born in Rotonda, Potenza, Italy, daughter of the late Luigi and Teresa (Sassone) Bruno.
Fulvia came to Ellis Island in 1947 and lived in the Bronx for several years before reuniting with the handsome Carabinieri she met in her hometown in Italy during the war. They married in 1950, moved to Worcester, and she dedicated her life to him and their family; she was proud to have been a full-time housewife and mother and spent many years caring for her older sister. She was a masterful Italian cook and loved daily conversations with her friend Jean, socializing at the Mt. Carmel apartments, and keeping up with current events. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel and Loreto Parish and attended Mass regularly. She was also a long-time member of the Worcester Lodge #168 of the Order Sons and Daughters of Italy. Her quick wit and generous nature, much like her beloved hot peppers, brought energy and delight to the lives of everyone around her and will be deeply missed.
Calling Hours will be on Wednesday, December 18, from 9:30 am until 10:45 am in Our Lady of Loreto Church, 33 Massasoit Road, Worcester, followed by her Funeral Mass at 11 am. Interment will follow at Saint John’s Cemetery, Worcester.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Saint John’s Food for The Poor, 20 Temple Street, Worcester, MA 01604.
The family has entrusted Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel.
