Gary F. Padavano, 62, of Worcester, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, October 28, 2024.
He leaves behind his devoted wife of 44 years, Lisa M. (Brunner) Padavano; his two children, Nicholas G. Padavano and his wife, Elizabeth of Worcester, and Amanda L. Padavano and her longtime partner, John Rivers; and his beloved grandchildren, Sophia, Cecilia, Nicholas, and Liana. He was preceded in death by his mother, Minnie F. Padavano.
Gary was born on September 15, 1962, in Worcester and graduated from Burncoat High School. He worked as a driver for FedEx for 32 years and, more recently, served as a school bus driver for the Worcester Public Schools.
Gary was an avid sports fan, especially enjoying Boston Bruins games with his son, and he loved spending time with his friends at cookouts. He adored his grandchildren, and time with them was one of his greatest joys. Without a father figure in his own life, Gary made it a priority to provide for his children, ensuring they never went without, and he was a deeply supportive dad. Known as a “Mr. Fix-It,” Gary could repair almost anything and enjoyed woodworking and building projects. He also had a love for the beach, where he found peace and relaxation.
Services for Gary will be held on Wednesday, November 6th, at 10:30 AM at Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Burial will follow at Saint John’s Cemetery in Worcester. Calling hours will be on Tuesday, November 5th, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
