Gay L. Gillon

Gay L. (Brunelle) Gillon, 78, peacefully passed on January 30, 2024, at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, Massachusetts. Her husband, Donald R. Gillon predeceased her in April 2012.

She was born on May 29, 1945, in Worcester and was the beloved daughter of Frederich and Ella (Rafuse) Brunelle. Gay led a fulfilling life as a dedicated housekeeper, working tirelessly for several nursing facilities. Her commitment to her profession touched the lives of many patients and staff within the healthcare community.

Outside of her career, Gay found solace and joy in spending time with her family, especially her cherished granddaughters. They brought immense happiness to her life and were the recipients of her boundless affection.

In her leisure time, Gay took great pleasure in playing cards with both friends and family. Whether engaging in spirited games with loved ones or enjoying a peaceful game of solitaire.

She will be greatly missed by her surviving son, Robert Gillon and his wife Susan; her three granddaughters Bria Gillon, McKenzie Gillon, and Jordyn Gillon and many nieces and nephews.  Gay is predeceased by six sisters, Barbara Covello, Sylvia Campbell, Rhoda Lehmann, Alice Lehmann, Christine Wallace, and Norma Beland, as well as her 4 brothers, Edward Brunelle, William Brunelle, Frederich Brunelle, and Gerald Brunelle.

To honor Gay's life, visitation will take place on February 5, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel located at 370 Plantation Street in Worcester, Massachusetts. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at the same location at 11:30 AM.  Gay will be laid to rest during an interment ceremony at Pine Grove Cemetery, located at 106 South St in Westborough, Massachusetts.
