George E. Houle, 72, of Oxford, passed away surrounded by loved ones on Sunday, June 30, 2024.
Born in Worcester on February 16, 1952, to Rudolph and Kathleen (Mailman) Houle. Raised in Worcester, George attended Doherty Memorial High School and was a graduate of the class of 1970. After graduating high school George went on to work at the Worcester Housing Authority retiring in 2014.
Renowned for his charm, laughter, and warm heart, George cherished his family. He was known to live in the moment and be there if you needed someone to listen. He would try his best to hear what you had to say and give the best advice he could. George was always there to provide guidance if you needed him.
George was an avid football fan and loved the New England Patriots. He loved to visit Maine with his brother Bob, go fishing and go to the beach. They would catch lobster and clams having the time of their lives. George would look at every car ride as an adventure and loved a good road trip.
Sadly, in addition to his parents, George was predeceased by his stepmother, Margaret Houle, his brother, Robert Edmonds and his wife Joann, his brother Ronald and his daughter-in-law, Rebecca Houle.
George is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Sheila (Carlson) Houle; his loving children, Benjamin E. Houle and his wife Sheri of Dudley, Jeffrey J. Houle of N. Grosvenordale CT; and Reneé S. Pelletier and her husband Matthew of Dudley; his six adored grandchildren; his cherished siblings and blended family, Elaine Vincent of Oxford, Kathleen Sheperd of Newbury, Peter Houle of Spencer, Kathleen Banks of Grafton, Pamela O’Bryant of N. Oxford, Bruce Houle of Worcester, Melissa Horgan of Worcester, Alan Houle of Texas; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
