George V. Johnson, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Tuesday, January 28th, 2025, at the age of 75. George was the son of the late Russell C. Johnson and Dorothy (Sundstrom) Johnson. In addition to his parents, George was predeceased by his brother, Russell Johnson Jr.
George is survived by his wife of many years, Kimberly Johnson. He was also a proud father to Tara Bronzo Larkin, Christopher Johnson, Dana Johnson and Dana’s wife, Sonia. George will be profoundly missed by his six cherished grandchildren, Nicholas, Samantha, Ryan, Levi, Ava, Gwen and his two great-grandchildren, Angelina and Piper. He also leaves behind his sister, Virginia Sears, her husband, Norman as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. George held a special place in his heart for Keith, Kenny and Alan.
George grew up and attended school in Worcester, MA. Early in life, George served in the United States Marine Corps, earning several medals for his service to his country during the Vietnam War. After his time in the Marines, he spent many years working in construction.
George loved to cook his special Italian gravy, hot pepper relish and sometimes would even bake his Mom’s famous sugar cookies. He loved spending time outdoors snowmobiling, golfing and he especially loved fishing. George had a passion for flying and in his younger years he would fly a Cessna plane around New England. As he grew older, he enjoyed the hobby of flying and crashing remote-controlled planes with his family and friends.
George had a wealth of knowledge and a story for every occasion. His wisdom, humor, and love for sharing and passing down memories will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.
There are no calling hours at this time. A private celebration of life for George will be held at a later time.
