George E. Paulin, 79, of Worcester, passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2019, at the Lutheran Home in Worcester, with loving family at his bedside.
George is survived by his loving wife of nearly fifty-three years, Judith A. (Rouillard) Paulin; a son, Christopher J. Paulin; a daughter, Kim M. Paulin; a granddaughter, Shannon M. Paulin and two great grandchildren, Laura and Gavin, who where adored and cherished by George; he also leaves a sister, Jean C. Paulin, all of Worcester; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Lori J. Paulin Maloney and by two granddaughters, Erin and Katelyn Maloney, and by two sisters, Eva Reidy and Rita Maynard. George was born in Worcester son of the late, Joseph E. and Mary (Murray) Paulin, and other that a few years in Southbridge, lived most of his life in Worcester. George graduated from Southbridge High School and receive an Associates Degree from the former Worcester Junior College. Later in life he decided to return to college and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from Assumption College. He served proudly in the United States Navy.
He was a long-time credit manager for various companies including HNU Financial, the former WCIS bank in Worcester, and a multitude of other local companies. He served on the Board of Directors of the National Credit Managers Association.
George was dedicated member of Saint George Catholic Church in Worcester, where he served as a lector, a member of the Parish Council, worked on the Bishops Fund Campaign (Partners in Charity), The Saint Vincent de Paul Society and served as President of the church Men’s Club. He was a member and Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Wachusett Council 4379, a member of the Bishop Reilly Assembly and Knights of Columbus Alhambra Council 88.
George and Judith loved to travel and the would visit beaches near and far, took several cruises to Bermuda and Hawaii, and George organized a church trip to Ireland and he loved it!!!. He also found great joy in NASCAR, Country Music, and Boston sports team and most of all… his family.
His family would like to extend a special “thank you” to everyone at the Lutheran Home, as well as Maryellen and Marybeth from Brook Haven Hospice. Their care for George and his family will long be remembered and was truly appreciated.
Calling Hours will on Thursday, May 2, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. His Funeral will be on Friday, May 3, from the funeral home, departing at 9:35 a.m. in procession for a 10 a.m. Funeral Mass in Saint George Church, 38 Brattle Street, Worcester. Interment will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to Make a Wish Foundation in honor of his granddaughters, Erin and Katelyn
