George L. Saucier, Jr., 69, of Worcester passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, September 4th, 2021.
George was born in Worcester, the eldest of two sons of the late George Saucier, Sr. and Dorothy (Spillane) Saucier.
George is also preceded in death by his loving wife of thirty-five years, Marie (Arpin) Saucier, who passed away six years ago on September 2nd, 2015. George is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Saucier, his aunts Mary Rita Spillane of Worcester and Constance Saucier, cousins, a brother, Daniel Saucier, and sister-in law Cynthia Saucier, both of Holden, niece Kimberly (Saucier) Estivale, and nephew Daniel Saucier, Jr.
George graduated from Burncoat High School in Worcester and went on to study at Worcester Junior College. He had been a member of St. Bernard’s Church in Worcester for many years. In recent years he had enjoyed the community at St. John’s Church in Worcester. He dedicated his life to loving and caring for his family.
George enjoyed classic rock music, animals, traveling, watching Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots games, making people smile or laugh, and helping and encouraging others. He was a music lover who learned how to play the guitar and collected records. He made regular donations to charitable organizations including the Special Olympics, the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. His travels included trips to Hawaii, Florida, California, Paris, the Grand Canyon, and Las Vegas.
George’s wish was to be buried next to his wife at St. John’s Cemetery in Worcester. Mercadante Funeral Home of Worcester handled the arrangements. A private viewing and burial service was held on Wednesday, September 22nd.
