George E. Shepard, 92 of Ayer, formerly of Worcester, passed away peacefully at Life Care Center of Acton.
George was born in Worcester, the son of the late George E. and Zola (Macomber) Shepard. He graduated from Worcester schools and soon after enlisted in the United States Air Force serving during the Korean War. George worked as an assembler and inspector for General Motors for many years before he retired.
George’s hobbies and interests included golf in his younger days, and going out enjoying the town and life in his later years George’s wife, Doris E. (Allain) Shepard passed away in 2007. He is survived by two grandchildren, Jessica Shepard of Worcester and Garett Shepard of Ayer with whom he lived; a great granddaughter, Kristiana Rovan; a sister, Elaine Blondin,96, of California. He is predeceased by a son, Gary Shepard in 2022 and a sister Mae Dalton.
Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours on Friday, March 1, 2024 from 4-6 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester. Burial will be held privately.
