Gina M. (Tomaiolo) Litchfield, 57, of North Brookfield, formerly Boylston and Shrewsbury, passed away unexpectedly, at home, Monday, July 17, 2023 surrounded by her family.
Gina is survived by the “love of her life” of over 40 years, Richard A. Litchfield; a son, Richard J. “RJ” Litchfield and daughter, Christina “Tina” Litchfield all of N. Brookfield; her mother, Kari (Hanson) Tomaiolo of Boylston; extended family and so many beloved friends.
Gina grew up in Boylston, and on November 24, 1990, she married Richard A. Litchfield. She then spent 23 incredible years on John Street in Shrewsbury raising her kids by her best friend’s side. Her favorite years were spent down the Cape collecting seashells, catching crabs, and looking for starfish together. Gina was very well known as “Mama Bear” to all of RJ and Tina’s friends, and she was happy to call their Shrewsbury home Camp Litchfield because anyone was welcome, no questions asked. She volunteered for every school field trip or opportunity to be involved in class parties, hockey games for RJ and girl scouts for Tina. Nothing in this world mattered more to her than Rich and the kids, and she always made sure they knew that without fail. RJ was her Panda Bear, T was her Love Bug.
Gina took pride in hosting, making sure everyone was fed and taken care of, no one ever left hungry or empty handed. Anyone who threw a party called G to make her famous brownies cause no one else’s could ever compare. She loved her music, and had it turned up on full blast whether she was driving around or at home cleaning. She found comfort and healing on her hardest days by listening to her favorite songs.
Since moving to North Brookfield in 2018, Gina found a love for nature and the peaceful sounds sitting on her front porch. She enjoyed watching the hummingbirds so much that she had names for most of them and knew all their routines. She loved having people out to see the new house that she was so proud of.
G had the biggest heart and soul for such a small woman, she wouldn’t back down from anything. When she loved you, she did it with everything she had and then some. Gina was known for her larger-than-life personality, and her beautiful smile. She truly had the ability to light up a room, no matter what the occasion.
We want to extend our unconditional gratitude to the two people who were by Gina’s side doing everything they could, which allowed us to be with her during her final moments. There will never be words for what you did for us, we are forever thankful.
With so much love,
Richie, RJ and Tina
