Gloria (Russo) Johnson

Gloria (Russo) Johnson of Worcester passed away peacefully at the age of 93 on June 22nd at the Rose Monahan Hospice Home with her loving family by her side. She was predeceased by her husband Robert Johnson and former husband Leo Tomaiolo. She leaves her devoted children, Lynda Tomaiolo and her companion Rocco Sciannameo, Nancy Temple and husband Gordon, Mark Tomaiolo and wife Carol-Lynn, Christopher Tomaiolo and wife Jackie, devoted companion Frank DiLiddo, her three grandchildren, Cory Belculfine and wife Bethany, Marc Donahue, Christopher Smith and stepson Stephen Johnson, her four great grandchildren, Stella Belculfine, Emersyn Donahue, Skylar Donahue, Domonic Donahue, Sebastian Smith as well as many nieces, nephews and dear friends. She leaves her sister Tina Gorman and is predeceased by her sister Nina Mastrogiovanni.  Gloria was born in Worcester, daughter of Joseph and Josephine Russo. She worked many years as a television hostess for Umass and St. Vincent's Hospital. She then spent many happy hours participating in local Arts & Crafts Shows.

Gloria had a zest for life and lived it to the fullest spending many vacations in Maine, Cape Cod and Florida. She especially loved the holidays making memories with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will always be remembered for her quick wit and her effortless way of making people feel welcome and comfortable. She will be dearly missed.

Friends and family are invited to gather with the family Saturday, July 8, from 3 pm to 5 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St.  A prayer service will be held at 5 pm.  Burial will be private.  In lieu of flowers memorial remembrances in her name can be made to St Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Way, Memphis TN.   The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of the Rose Monahan Hospice home for their care.
