Gordana "Donna" Moretti

Gordana “Donna” (Krosnjar) Moretti, 77, of Worcester passed away suddenly after being stricken ill, Monday, December 6, 2021, at home, joining in heaven her husband Mario and son Carlo. 

Donna was born in St Louis, Missouri, the daughter of George Krosnjar and Zagora (Vesich) Georgevich. Raised in St Louis, Donna came to the Boston area as a young woman. There she began her life’s work as a cosmetologist. She met a young Doctor Mario Moretti. They married on September 9, 1976, and spent the next 32 years together until, Mario passed away in 2009. Over the years Donna owned and operated several beauty shops in the Worcester area. Donna was extra special in her work, always the glamorous and glitzy diva, she took immense pride in her appearance and those of her customers. 

Donna is survived by a grandson, Aiden Moretti; two sisters, Maria Popovac in California, and Nina Bogard in Missouri; nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends in her apartment building. In addition to her parents, husband and son, a brother, Milosh Krosnjar and sister, Mia Massie predeceased her. 

Donna was deeply religious, she attended or watched mass, enjoyed her bible study group at her apartment, enjoyed watching QVC, traveling to Maine and Puerto Rico with Mario, and living in California for a time while Carlo pursued an acting career. She was a great cook and baker, known for her three-layer German Chocolate cake. 

A period of calling hours will be held Thursday, December 16th from 9:30 to 11:00 AM in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street followed by her funeral service at 11:00.  Burial with her husband and son will be in St. Ann’s Cemetery, Cranston RI.
