Harold J. Wallace

February 1, 1935 — June 18, 2019

Harold J. “Wally” Wallace, 84, of Worcester, passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at Memorial Hospital in Worcester.

Harold is survived by his loving wife of sixty years, Eleanor R. (DiSilvestri) Wallace; a son, Michael A. Wallace and his wife Susan; a daughter, Kathleen Mary Fournier and her husband David, all of Worcester; four grandchildren, Ryan, Sean, Nicolina, and Jared; three great grandchildren, Mackenzie, Lily, and Maddox; many nieces and nephews.  Another grandson, Matthew Wallace predeceased him in November 2017.  Harold was also predeceased by his six siblings, Beverly LaBaire, Marjorie Borowski, Dorothy Roach, Arthur, Orrin, and Edwin Wallace.  He was born in Worcester, son of the late Orrin and Mary (Ahearn) Wallace and has lived here all his life.

Wally, as many people knew him, served his nation proudly in the United States Navy, during the Korean Conflict.

He worked for over twenty-three years as a traffic signal engineer for the City of Worcester, before he retired.  He was a member of Our Lady of Loreto Church, the Worcester Elks, Greendale Retired Men’s Club, and was at one time a coach for Joe DiMaggio Little League.  Wally was an avid reader, enjoyed a good game of Keno or watching the puppies and ponies run around the track.  He also enjoyed working with his hands; he was a television and radio repairman, but as times changed and people began to simple replace rather than fix, he developed the fine skill of repairing wrist watches.
