Ignacio Carrasquillo

Ignacio Carrasquillo, 63 of Worcester, passed away on Monday, June 24, 2024, in the comfort of his home, surrounded by loving family.

He is survived by the love of his life for the past forty-six years, his wife, Daisy M. (Aldea) Carrasquillo; three sons, Michael A. Carrasquillo and his fiancé Theresa M. Hatheway of Worcester, José M. Carrasquillo and his wife Ashleigh of Paxton, and Eduardo Carrasquillo and his wife Lisa Marie Quiles-Carrasquillo of Worcester; a brother, Hector Cruz of Worcester; two sisters, Evelyn Lopez of Worcester, and Juanita Cruz of Connecticut; seven grandchildren, Jacinda Carrasquillo-Hatheway, Michael L. Carrasquillo, Alisaundra Carrasquillo, José J. Carrasquillo, Cinthia Carrasquillo, Alexander Rodriguez, Jr., and Edwardo Carrasquillo, Jr.; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. Ignacio was born in Caguas, Puerto Rico, son of the late, Ciprian Carrasquillo and Marcolina Lopez. He moved to New York in the early 1970’s, then returned to Puerto Rico for several years, before moving to Worcester in 1976.

Ignacio worked as a cook for the Guild of St. Agnes. He was a member of Saint Joan of Arc Church. He enjoyed his saltwater aquariums, fishing, hotrods, the New York Yankees, classic cartoons and “The Wonder of It All”. He loved to be with his family and enjoyed being surrounded by the children who attended the daycare run by his wife in their home. 

There was nothing more important to him than the love and support of his wife and children. 

Calling Hours will be on Sunday, June 30 from 4 pm to 7 pm in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. His Funeral will be on Monday, July 1, at 10 a.m. in Saint Joan of Arc Church, 570 Lincoln Street, Worcester, MA. Interment will follow in Hope Cemetery, Worcester.
