Irene M. Vessella

Irene M. (Collette) Vessella, 92 of Charlton, formerly a longtime resident of Shrewsbury, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at Lifecare Center of Auburn with her daughter, son-in-law and grandson by her side.

Irene was born in Fitchburg, MA., a daughter of the late Vitalin and Elizabeth (Landry) Collette.  She graduated from Commerce High School and later moved to Shrewsbury where she lived for over 50 years before moving in with her daughter 6 years ago.  Irene was a member of St. Annes Church in Shrewsbury.  She enjoyed bowling and was on a bowling league in her younger years and loved going to Foxwoods with her husband.

Irene’s husband of 61 years, Frank A. Vessella, Jr. passed away on October 23, 2010.  She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Campbell and her husband Stephen; a grandson, John Campbell all of Charlton with whom she lived; a sister, Dorothy Alquist of Florida; a nephew and a niece, Brian and Karen Alquist and their families
