Ishan D. Birchett, II

Ishan D. Birchett, II, 36 of Worcester, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at UMass Medical Center after being stricken ill.

Ishan was born in Fairfax, Virginia, but spent several years of his childhood in his beloved Rochester, NY.  He moved to Worcester, MA as a young boy where he grew up and graduated from Burncoat High School, later attending Berkley School of Music.  Ishan was the owner, founder, and certified fitness trainer of Muscle Eats Fat for 4 years.  He also was the offensive coordinator for Worcester Vikings Youth Football League for 6 years. 

Ishan had a love and passion for football and mentoring young people.  He also loved music, producing music, fishing, and shooting pool.  He was a strong leader in the community of Worcester, who’s presence inspired those around him to be better young men and fathers.

Ishan is survived by his amazing son, Isaiah Birchett (mother Milagro Silano) of Worcester; his parents, Ishan D. Birchett, Sr. of Worcester and Yvette Y. (Haynes) Birchett of Buffalo, NY; his beloved brother and football coaching partner, Brian P. Birchett and significant other Veronica Villa of Holden; two sisters, Krysti L. Gardner and husband David of Oak Park, MI and Danielle E. Birchett of Leicester; his maternal grandmother, Anna Mary Haynes of Maumee, OH.; nieces and nephews, Jaedin, Lamont, Aaliyah, Aniyah, Elijah and Nevayah Birchett, Dean and Brent Gardner; a very special friend, Kayla Wheeler and her daughter Brielle, bonus sister Lynette Colon and godson Javian, aunts and uncles, ; many cousins, close friends and extended family members.  He is predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Willie Joe Haynes; his paternal grandparents, Wilbur James and Esther Bernice Birchett, Sr.; two uncles and two aunts.

A period of calling hours will be held on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, from 4-7 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester.  His funeral service will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 19^th at 12 noon in Emmanuel Baptist Church, 717 Mai St., Worcester.  Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery, Worcester.
