Jairo Buitrago

Jairo “Jerry” Buitrago, 72, passed away peacefully after a period of declining health on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at the Christopher House, Worcester, MA.

Jerry leaves behind his devoted daughter, Andrea Erkoc and her husband, son-in-law, Ali Erkoc; his grandchildren, Ari and Ava Erkoc all of Webster; his brother, Javier Buitago, sister, Nydia Buitrago and their families of Bogota, Colombia; his former wife and mother of his children, Lila Maier and her husband Frank. He is preceded is death by his son, Jose Buitrago who tragically died in a car accident in 1986. 

Jerry was born in Bogota, Colombia, a son of the late Luis Felipe and Lilia (Quiroga) Buitrago and immigrated to America in the early 1970’s and one of his biggest accomplishment was becoming an American citizen. He worked as a truck driver for many years for FedEx Ground.

Jerry’s daughter, Andrea would like to thank the staff at the Christopher House and The Jewish Healthcare Hospice for the exceptional care and compassion they gave to her father.
