James E. Connor, 51 of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 4, 2018 at UMass Medical Center.
James was born in Worcester where he has been a lifelong resident. He graduated from Saint John’s High School, Class of 1984 and later received a Bachelor of Science degree summa cum laude from Nichols College in 1989. James worked as a CPA most of his business career starting at KPMG in Boston and Allmerica in Worcester. He retired as the Chief Operating Office and Vice-President of Hanover Insurance Co. James loved attending live sporting events, concerts and any live music outing. He was a huge fan of the New England Patriots and loved traveling. Jim was a dedicated, loving, proud and devoted father, son, brother and friend.
James is survived by his beloved daughter, Mary Alexandria Connor of Waterford, CT; his loving companion, Dagii Bell of Worcester; his mother, Lois A. (Lajoie) Connor of Worcester; three brothers, John J. Connor and his wife Doreen of Worcester, Scott M. Connor and his wife Susan of Sterling, and Christopher P. Connor and his wife Debora of Worcester; two aunts, Lynne Connor of Paxton and Shirley Bartkus of Worcester; many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and colleagues. James is predeceased by his father, Garry J. Connor; his paternal grandparents, Garrett and Alice (Bold) Connor; his maternal grandparents, Napoleon and Mary (Poirier) Lajoie; an uncle, William Connor.
James’s funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 7, 2018 at 11:00 am in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester. Burial will be private. A period of calling hours will be held on Wednesday, June 6th from 4-7 pm in the funeral home.
