James Seton Dalton, 58, of Worcester, died unexpectedly on June 14th, 2021. Born in Hartford, CT, he was the son of the late Peter J. and Justine (Gorman) Dalton. He attended St. Thomas the Apostle School and graduated from William H. Hall High School in West Hartford. He attended Assumption University in Worcester and earned his bachelor’s degree from Central Connecticut State University.
Jim resided in the Worcester area for the past 30 years and was a successful orthopedic sales representative for DJD Medical, selling DePuy, a division of Johnson & Johnson.
He was an all-state lacrosse goalie, an excellent golfer, and a fixture at the Worcester Country Club where he recently won a club tournament. He was well thought of in the business community and a long-time member of the Greendale YMCA. Jim was outgoing, charismatic, and known for his infectious smile as well as his sense of humor.
Of his many accomplishments in life, Jim was most proud of his three children whom he loved very much.
Jim is survived by his former wife, Julie A. (Mastrototaro) Dalton, and their three children: Madeline H. Dalton and her fiancé, Timothy Foley, of South Boston, Peter J. Dalton of Holden, and Caroline E. Dalton of Holden. Jim leaves his siblings: Anne E. Dalton of California, Mary Dalton-Hoffman and her husband, Vincent Hoffman, of Worcester, Peter M. Dalton of West Hartford, and Thomas D. Dalton and his wife, Leslie Sano, of West Hartford, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours for friends and family are Friday, June 18th from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. The funeral procession will be Saturday, June 19th at 8:30 a.m. from the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m. at St. Bernard’s Church, 228 Lincoln Street, Worcester. Interment Services will be held privately.
