James worked as a laborer for many years with the Laborers Union, Local 243.  He was a life-long member of Saint Stephen’s Church, and the church men’s club and pitch league.  He was a long-time coach for Jack Barry Little League and enjoyed gathering with friends and family members.  He enjoyed playing cribbage, cooking, spending time with friends at the Brown Square Civic Club and being with his family. He loved watching sports and was a lifelong Red Sox fan as well as a huge New York Giants football fan.

He and Carolyn enjoyed traveling the world on cruises, but especially loved visiting their children and grandchildren.  He spent many hours standing beside his wife and as a tireless worker for her political endeavors.
