At the age of seventeen he joined the military where he served in the Brown Water Navy in Vietnam. Jim served his country until 1966 upon which he was honorably discharged. He enjoyed listening to classical music with his wife Sophie. He loved nature and spent his time gardening, fishing, camping and just being outdoors. He was a longtime motorcycle enthusiast, having gone on many motorcycle trips with his best friend, Mac. He was caring and loving to all those around him and always had a smile on his face. He will be greatly missed.
