It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of James M. Carelli, 62, of Auburn, on Friday, February 14, 2025, in Worcester, surrounded by loved ones.
James is survived by his beloved wife of 22 years, Gwendolyn (Fair) Carelli of Auburn; his loving son, Jonathan J. Carelli of Manchester, Connecticut; his cherished sister, Cheryl A. Carelli of Arlington, Texas; and numerous aunts, cousins and friends. In addition to his dear parents, James was predeceased by his caring brother, William E. Carelli.
Born in Worcester on February 19, 1962, James was the second son born to James J. and Joan (Burns) Carelli. James was a graduate of St. John’s High School in Shrewsbury.
James truly loved history, especially when it came to WWII – enjoying many documentaries and movies as well as collecting artifacts from the period.
There are no words that can capture how much James will be missed. His gentle, loving spirit and selfless soul are forever ingrained into the hearts of everyone who knew him.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Sunday, March 2, 2025, in the Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester from 12:00p.m. to 2:00p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks to plant a tree in James’ memory.
