Jane T. (Dufresne) Marino, 88, of Worcester, MA died on Tuesday, January 31, 2023, at home after a valiant battle with cancer. Born in Worcester and raised in Grafton Hill, she was the daughter of the late Carleton and Helena (Packard) Dufresne. She was the beloved wife of 43 years of John “Jack” D. Marino, Sr. and mother of Donna Borraccino of Worcester, Lionel Demers (Denise) of Wareham, Linda Demers of Worcester, John Marino, Jr. (Diane) of Apopka, FL, Paul Marino (Tammy) of Rumford, ME, Michael Demers (Susan) of Millbury, and Nicole Marino (Ted Croteau) of Worcester. She also leaves behind 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Jane was predeceased by her brothers Carleton, Robert ,Bernard “Lefty,” Donald and Raymond “Butch” Dufresne, and sister Marie (Dufresne) Daige.
Jane was a graduate of St. Stephen’s High School and worked for several years at Grafton Suburban Credit Union. She also worked at David Clark, followed by the Department of Social Services, from where she retired in 1996. After retirement, she volunteered at St. John’s Soup Kitchen and the Mass Association of the Blind. She enjoyed her house on the Cape, going to the casinos and traveling with John.
A period of calling hours will be held on Monday, February 6 from 4:00-7:00 pm at the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St, Worcester. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at St. John’s Catholic Church, 44 Temple St, Worcester on Tuesday, February 7 at 11:00 am, going in procession from the funeral home at 10:30am. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery & Mausoleum, 162 Webster St, Worcester.
For those who are unable to attend, the Mass will be livestreamed at www.MercadanteFuneral.com by clicking on "Services" at the top of the page. The service will appear at approximately 10:55 am on Tuesday.
