Janet E Marshall

April 23, 1940 — March 18, 2023

Janet E. Marshall, 82, of Douglas, MA and Bradford, ME passed away March 18, 2023, after a period of declining health.  She was born April 23, 1940, in Willimantic, ME, a daughter of Walter and Louise (Allen) Stone.

She leaves behind two children, Randolph G. Marshall and his wife Linda of Hermon, ME, and Patricia A. Marshall and her husband Sean R. Holland of Douglas, MA; two grandchildren, Laurel E. Holland and Grace M. Holland of Douglas, MA; two sisters, Beverly Cowing of Orneville, ME and Virginia Larrabee of Caribou, ME.  Along with her parents, she was predeceased by the father of her children, Robert A. Marshall, as well as her sisters Mildred Blanchard, Agnes Pickard, and Edith Moulton and brothers Dwinal Stone, William Stone, and Harvey Stone.

Janet was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt.  She especially enjoyed summer visits back to Maine to visit family and friends and long rides in her VW Beetle with her granddaughter, Grace.  She provided immeasurable levels of love and support to her daughter and her family in Douglas, MA for almost two decades, and she will be remembered for her sense of humor, work ethic, and love of animals.  Janet worked for many years in the leather and shoe industries in Maine and, in her free time, enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles, cooking, gardening, and using color by number apps on her iPad.

There will be no public services in Massachusetts.  A graveside service will be held at Hillside Cemetery in Bradford, Maine in the spring. MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL is honored to assist.
