Jean M. Largess

Jean M. Largess, 93, a life-long resident of Worcester, passed away in the comfort of her home, on Saturday, February 19, 2022, surrounded by family and friends.         

Jean is survived by three generations of nieces and nephews, her neighbors, The Girard Family, who were truly “family”, Wendy and Paul Greeney, who afforded her the opportunity to remain in her home, and her live-in caregiver, Grace.  Jean was predeceased by her parents, Clifton R. and Winifred K. (Warnke) Largess, and her brothers, Clifton Jr., Kenneth, Donald and Robert. She graduated from Saint Stephen’s High School.

Jean worked several jobs in her life, one of which was office manager at Timken Oil. She was a swimming instructor at the YWCA. She enjoyed skiing, traveling, dining out and conversations with everyone. Jean especially loved family gatherings and sitting in the sunshine along the shores of Lake Singletary. 

Jean made everyone feel that they were the most important person and often left us laughing. Her loving wisdom and kindness is something that will be remembered fondly by all. 

Jean has gifted her body to the University of Massachusetts Medical School.

A Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, February 26, at 11 a.m. Saint John’s Church, 44 Temple Street, Worcester.

The Mass will be “live streamed” and can be viewed by visiting www.mercadantefuneral.com and selecting “live services” from the menu bar.  Video will start automatically when the Mass begins.
