Jean E. (Valoir) Peduzzi, 87, a longtime Worcester resident, passed away Saturday, April 2nd, 2022, with loved ones gathered at her side after a brief illness.
Jean was born in Spencer; her mother was the late Loretta (Bousquet) Valoir. She married Robert A Peduzzi in 1954, and spent the next 61 years, raising her family and supporting her family’s operation of Empire Granite in the upper Main Street neighborhood of Webster Square before Robert left her side on April 13, 2016. She continued to live in the family home until her passing. Jean once worked for the RH White bus company and Town of Auburn as a school bus route driver.
Jean is survived by her eight children, Cheryl Peduzzi, Joan Grady, Debra Walsh and her husband Jay, Cathy Senosk, Patricia Walsh and her husband Michael, Paula Besaw and her husband Louis, Robert J. Peduzzi and John Peduzzi; 18 grandchildren, Kimberly, Tammy, Ray, Dan, Shannon, Kelly, Bart, Brad, Michael, Shane, Adam, Matthew, Anthony, Joey, Ashley, Samantha, Angela and Amanda; 21 great grandchildren; Jaycob, Savannah, Will, Ryann, Dominic, Connor, Anna, Finnegan, Grady, Kaitlin, Deaglan, Brigid, Tristan, Kylee, Michael, Brady, Grace, Beau, Michael, Mason, and Maddox; a great, great granddaughter, Kaleia: Many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, two brothers also predeceased her.
Jean was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, who cherished the time she could spend with her entire family during holidays, on special occasions or just dinners when they could all be together. In her life her family always came first, placing their needs always before her own and made sure they had what they needed. She enjoyed her trips to Twin Rivers with her daughters, her getaways to her summer home on Lake Quaboag, spending time with peace and silence. She was an animal lover, avid and accomplished bowler who traveled to Las Vegas for many tournaments, winning several of them and notably a National Championship.
A period of calling hours will be held Thursday, April 7th from 10 am to 11 am in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street, follow by her Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am, Burial will follow in St John Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances in her name can be made to the Worcester Animal Rescue League, Holden Street Worcester 01605. The MERCADANTE Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation St is honored to assist the family with arrangements.
