Jennie (Danna) Acampora, 95, of Worcester died peacefully Monday December 10. Surrounded by her loving family and friends in the Holy Trinity Nursing Center. Her Husband Andrew “Hank” Acampora died in 2006. Jennie is survived by her loving and dedicated daughter and son in law,Patricia and William Dolan of Worcester, many nephews and nieces and great nephews and nieces in the Danna and Acampora families, among them Thomas and Robert Danna. Jennie is also survived by her brothers and sisters in law; Carmen and Marissa Acampora, Jack and Albina Acampora, Lucille Taylor and Vera Acampora. Jennie was predeceased by her two brothers Anthony “Tony” Danna and Robert Danna and his wife Mary.
Jennie was born in Worcester daughter of Tomaso and Josephine (Russo) Danna and lived here all her life. She was a graduate of Commerce High School. Jennie worked many years as a bookkeeper at the Big D Supermarket, and before that at the former Manzi’s Market on Shrewsbury Street. Jennie was a life member of the Church of Our Lady of Mt Carmel-St Ann, it’s Golden Age Club and Women’s Guild. and presently Our Lady of Loreto Church. She was a long time member of the San Vitaliano Womens Society, Jennie enjoyed shopping with her daughter and enjoyed line dancing and socializing with her friends and family. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
Jennie’s funeral will be held on Monday from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. with a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00AM in the Church of Our Lady of Loreto. 34 Massasoit Rd. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2PM to 5PM in the Funeral home. Entombment will be in St Johns Cemetery Mausoleum.
