Jennie A. (Cariglia) Stewart, 92, of Worcester died peacefully Tuesday November 19, 2019 in the UMASS Hospital surrounded by her loved ones. Her Husband Robert E. Stewart died in 2006. Jennie leaves her loving family, two sons, Robert J. Stewart and Michael H. Stewart of Worcester, two daughters, Lynne M. Stewart and partner John W. Brennan of Boston, and Lori A. Choate and her husband Christopher J. of Wrentham. Jennie was the proud and doting grandmother to Michael C. and Megan E. Choate. Jennie is also survived by her dear brothers, Peter P. Cariglia and his wife Beverly of Worcester, and Joseph A. Cariglia and his wife Carolyn of Holden. Jennie also had a special place in her heart for her two long time friends Charlotte Notarangelo and Susan Finne. She also leaves many nephews, nieces, and grandnephews and grandnieces.
Jennie was born in Worcester daughter of the late Michael A. and Lena M. (Bodinizzo) Cariglia and lived here all her life. She was a graduate of Commerce High School. Jennie worked for the Henry L. Hanson Company as an Accountant for many years before she retired. Jennie was a life member of the Church of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel-St Ann. She was also a member of their Golden Years Club.
Jennie enjoyed going on many different bus trips with her friend’s and travelling with her Husband Bob to many places. She loved to cook especially her Sunday dinners with her family. She was an avid Patriots fan and enjoyed a good day at the Casino! Jennie was a kind and caring lady who will be immensely missed by her family and friends.
Jennie’s funeral will be held on Friday November 22 from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. with a Mass of Christian burial at 11:30AM in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church at Our Lady of Loreto 34 Massasoit Rd. A time to visit with the family will be held on Friday morning from 9AM to 10:45 AM before leaving for Church. Interment will be in St Johns Cemetery with her Husband.
