With love and reflection, we share that Jo Ann M. (Morin) Macha has been called home to the Lord and is now at peace. She passed on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester after a brief illness, with her daughters by her side.
Jo Ann lived life in her own unique way - bold, independent, and with a free spirit. She found joy in music, dancing, and the beach, embracing the beauty of God’s creation in the rhythm of the waves, the warmth of the sun, and the melody of a favorite song. When she wasn't dancing, singing or enjoying the beach she could be found playing a fierce game of Scrabble, which she never, ever lost.
She is survived by her loving children, Tammy Frates and her husband Brian Frates of Worcester, Kimberly Golinski and her partner Brian Allenberg of Warren, and Leah Leclair of Worcester, along with her treasured granddaughter, Mikhaila Golinski. She also leaves behind her brother, John Morin and his wife Robin of Columbia, CT, and many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. She is now reunited in God’s eternal embrace with her parents, Joseph and Jeannette (Dubuc) Morin, as well as her beloved sister, Suzanne (Morin) Fairbanks, and her brother, Donald Morin.
Born in Torrington, CT, on November 20, 1959, Jo Ann was the third of four children. She was a woman of strength and determination, facing life’s challenges with resilience. Those who knew her will remember her independent spirit, her unwavering will, and the way she found happiness in life’s simple blessings.
As we say goodbye, we take comfort in the promise of eternal life and trust that Jo Ann now rests in the presence of our Lord. May perpetual light shine upon her, and may she find peace in the company of the saints.
