John “Connie” L. Benoit, 61, of Worcester, a man of great faith, went to be with his savior on Saturday, February 11, 2023.
John is survived by his son, Jon J. “Jon Boy” Benoit and his girlfriend Christina Zollo of Worcester; his daughter, Kristen “Dupa” Smith and her husband Timothy of Auburn; his close friend and mother of his children, Patricia J. Collins; two brothers, Michael R. Benoit and his wife Virginia of Auburn, and Daniel J. Benoit and his wife Amy of Rutland; two sisters, Donna L Benoit-Simarano and her husband John of Worcester, and Christine E. Albin and her husband Kurt of Shrewsbury; sister in - law Lynn Benoit James’ widow; five grandchildren, Jaelynn, Trevor, and Jase Smith, Aubrey Benoit, and Matteo Simmone; many nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by four brothers and a sister, James P., Joseph F., Mark A, Timothy C., and Denise Benoit. He was also predeceased by two nephews, Christopher Bosowski and Matthew Benoit. John was born in Worcester, son of the late, Joseph W. and Patricia C. (Hallahan) Benoit, and has lived here all his life.
John worked as a carpet and flooring installer with Kesseli and Morse as well as with the Carpenters Union Local 107. He was a subcontractor with his brother, Jim for several years, before affiliating with the Union.
John was devout in his faith and was a member of Saint John’s Church in Worcester. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, New England sports, and coaching little league. He was also a talented guitarist and vocalist and performed with the band Achilles.
A Memorial Mass will be on Monday, February 20, at 3 p.m. in Saint John’s Church, 44 Temple Street, Worcester. His family will receive friends and relatives at the church from 2 p.m. until the Mass begins at 3 p.m.
