John “Jack” J. Conway, Jr., 66, a longtime resident of West Boylston, passed away with his loved ones gathered at his side Monday October 16, 2023.
Jack was born in Worcester, the son of John J. Conway, Sr., and Barbara G. (Lesperance) Conway. Raised in Worcester, Jack married the “Love of his life” Wendy Dunkerly on October 29th 1977, and began a life of family, faith and love raising their children in Worcester and then for the past 36 years in West Boylston. Jack was a dedicated Auto mechanic, he was the best at diagnosing a problem with any car or truck, for W.C. Cranston & Son in West Boylston many years before retiring.
He is survived by his love Wendy and his three children he loved and was so proud of, Michele L. Burgwinkle and her fiancé Mark Larson of Boylston, John J. Conway III and Joshua Conway of West Boylston; three brothers, Michael Conway of Marston Mills, Stephen Conway of Auburn, and James Conway of West Boylston; two sisters, Kathleen Laplante of Holden and Cheryl Conway of Rutland; three grandchildren he adored, Tyler, Timothy and Madison; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Jack was an enthusiastic New York Yankee fan and enjoyed watching hockey and football. He enjoyed the scenery of Maine and visiting Nubble lighthouse. Jack was a Jack of all trades, could and was willing to help anybody fix anything or supervise a project. Jack also found peace watching and feeding the birds in his backyard.
Friends are invited to gather for calling hours Tuesday, October 24, 2023, from 4 pm to 6 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Services and burial will be held privately. Memorial remembrances in his name can be made to The American lung association.
