John "Brad" Lange, age 74, of Sutton passed away from declining health on Thursday, January 7, 2021. Born in Worcester, Brad was the firstborn son of Earl and Madeline (Akelaitis) Lange, was raised in Millbury and worked in his hometown his entire career. As the Superintendent of the Millbury Wastewater Treatment Plant, Brad received a national award for his oversight of the plant before retiring in 2011 after over 40 years of dedicated service to his community.
Brad was an avid sportsman who loved the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. The crushing tides of the ocean, the sounds of a rushing river, or the virtual silence of a forest all drew him in with keen attention, appreciation and respect. He was a long-time member of the Singletary Rod & Gun Club, a member of the Rhode Island Mobile Sportsman Club and will be forever missed by his fellow sportsmen.
Brad was a man of deep faith. He was a member of St. John's Church of Worcester, but recited his prayers on a daily basis, wherever he was. He practiced kindness, forgiveness, encouragement, inclusiveness and unconditional love in his lifetime.
Taken too soon, Brad leaves behind the love of his life, his wife of 38 years, Virginia "Ginny" (Gaudette) Lange, his sister Linda Lange Trtanj and her husband John, nephew Alex Trtanj and niece Madeline Trtanj, all of Colorado, his brother Bob Lange of Worcester, step-daughter Nicole Leblanc, Granddaughter Tiana George, and is predeceased by a second step-daughter, Stephanie LeBlanc, who died in 2009. Beyond that, his love and acceptance reached wide. He leaves extended family on Ginny's side...wonderful in-laws, nieces and nephews with whom he enjoyed many memorable family gatherings, eleven first cousins and their extended families, and a host of close friends. He opened his heart wide to all, and was welcomed and received by all. His life was rich and well-lived. He rests, with few regrets.
