John D. “Jack” Marino, Sr, 86, of Worcester, passed away Sunday, November 17th 2024, after a brief illness.
Jack was born in Worcester, the son of Nicholas and Anna (Cabot) Marino. He graduated from Commerce High and earned his associates degree from New England School of Accounting. Jack then began his career with the David Clark Company as information systems manager for 18 years. He then accepted a position with UVEX in Rhode Island where he worked another 18 years before retiring.
Jack was the beloved husband for 43 years of Jane T. (Dufresne) Marino who passed away January 31st 2023, and father of Donna Borraccino of Worcester, Lionel Demers (Denise) of Wareham, Linda Demers of Worcester, John Marino, Jr. (Diane) of Apopka, FL, Paul Marino (Tammy) in Douglasville, Georgia, Michael Demers (Susan) of Millbury, and Nicole Marino (Ted) of Worcester. He also leaves behind 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandsons: a sister, Jean Belinskas, and her husband Paul, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Jack was a member and Eucharistic minister of St John’s Church; Jack was also a member and former president and treasurer of the Millbury Senior Center and drove the Senior Center Van several years. He loved Old Classic Cars, his home on the Cape, Casinos, Travel and watching Fox News. At onetime Jack served in the Army Reserves.
A period of calling hours will be held on Wednesday, November 20th from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St, Worcester. His funeral will be Thursday, November 21st from the funeral home with a procession to St John Church, 44 Temple St where his celebration of Christian burial Mass will be held at 10:30 am. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to St. John’s Food for the Poor at 20 Temple St, Worcester, MA 01604 or at
