John V. Murillo 74 of Worcester died Thursday November 15, 2018 at the Life Care Center of Auburn. Born in Guayaguil Ecuador, he was the son of the late Juan V. and Ita Angelica (Pincay) Murillo. At the age of 22 John immigrated to this country with his wife Gladys A. Cruz who died in 2010, and together they raised their family. John worked for the Norton Company for many years as a machinist retiring in 2007.
John was a faithful member of Saint Paul’s Cathedral in Worcester, an active supporter and member of the local Worcester Ecuadorian Society where he formerly served as president. John will be dearly missed by his family and friends in the community.
John leaves his wife Anadelia D. (Paulino) Murillo, two sons, Xavier F. Murillo, his wife Soleima and their children Crystal, Raquel, Faith, Helen and Renso. John K. Murillo, his wife Ivy and their daughter Amelia, and one daughter Raquel A. Fry, her husband Tim and their son Landon.
John’s funeral services will begin with calling hours on Sunday November 18, 2018 from 4-7pm at the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME AND CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. Worcester 01605. John’s funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday at 10am at Saint Paul’s Cathedral 15 Chatham St. Worcester 01609. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery.
