John P. Riordan, Jr.

John P. Riordan, Jr., 58 of Worcester, passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2019.
John was born in Worcester, a son of the late John P. Riordan, Sr., where he graduated from North High School and has lived most of his life. John worked as a Mental Health Counselor for 25 years for Newton-Wellesley Hospital. He was passionate in his career and found tremendous joy in helping those that were less fortunate. John was an avid reader, huge sports fan, particularly baseball and the Red Sox attending many games at Fenway Park. He enjoyed the simple things in life, going to the beach with a good book in hand. He especially cared about politics and was a true bleeding-heart liberal.
John is survived by his mother, Katherine M. (Parodeau) Brosnan and her husband Ronald of Worcester; two brothers, Jeffrey C. Riordan of Del Ray Beach, Fl and Brian A. Riordan of Boston; a uncle, Vincent Parodeau and his wife Sharon of Holden; three aunts, Kim Welsh of Marshfield, MA, Tami Parodeau-Fitch of Worcester and Gael DeMaio of Connecticut; many cousins and dear friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to a period of calling hours on Thursday, May 30, 2019 from 4-7 pm with his funeral service to begin at 7 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester.
