John J Szymkiewicz Jr.

John J Szymkiewicz Jr. 84 of Monson died peacefully at his home with his beloved wife Kathy at his side on Friday April 22, 2022. Born in Westfield, he was the son of the late John J and Eva R. (Robiencazk) Szymkiewicz.

John leaves his wife of 26 years Kathy (Avondo/Casey) Szymkiewicz, three sons John “Jody” Szymkiewicz III and his wife Margaret, and grandson John IV, Mark Szymkiewicz, Todd Szymkiewicz, and grandson Eric and his fiancé Holly, step daughter Corrina Wcislo and two grandchildren Tyler and Harleigh.

John was a local builder and owner, operator of TK Tile of Monson for many years and a member of the North Atlantic Carpenters Union. John served his country faithfully in the United States Army and will be remembered for his patriotism.

John was an avid Pitch and Cribbage player and played at several Senior Centers nearby for many years, prior to Covid-19. He sorely missed his card cronies and the card games he loved.

John was a faithful member of the Holland Congregational Church for many years where he enjoyed the fellowship of the many, especially the men’s groups that meet annually at the men’s retreat in upper state NY.

A memorial service will be held on Monday April 25, 2022 at 2pm at Holland Congregational Church 11 Sturbridge Rd Holland, Ma 01521. Internment with military honors will be held at a later date in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam Ma.
