Joseph L Belculfine, 84, a lifelong resident of Worcester and construction company owner passed away Friday March 27th from complications of COVID-19.
Joseph was born in Worcester, one of five children of Louis A and Madalena (Aulizio) Belculfine. Raised and educated in Worcester, Joe married the Love of Life Mary MacNutt and enjoyed over 47 years together before Mary passed away on February 18, 2002. Over his life, Joe and his family lived in Worcester, Grafton, and more than 50 years in Shrewsbury.
Joseph owned and operated with his son and best friend, Joe, The Belculfine Excavation Company before retiring.
Joe is survived by three sons including Joseph A. Belculfine of Grafton and Mark J. Belculfine in Mass; a brother Richard Belculfine of Ocala, Florida; Three sisters, Jean F. Misale and Carol A. Pellegrino both of Worcester and Judith A. Gunnarson of Rutland; eight grandchildren; a great granddaughter; Many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
Joe mostly enjoyed his family, dancing, watching sports and being in the company of friends at the Kasbar on route 20.
Family and friends are invited to a period of calling hours will be held Thursday June 11th from 9:30 am to 10:30 am in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. followed by a procession to St Anne’s Church, 170 Boston Turnpike Rd Shrewsbury where his funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am.
