Joseph P. DeMauro

Joseph P. DeMauro, 84, of Worcester, passed away on Friday, December 30, 2022, after being stricken ill at home.

He is survived by his daughter Lisa (DeMauro) Johansen and husband Daniel of Athol, MA, and his sons Santo J. DeMauro and wife Paula of Barre, MA, and John J. DeMauro and his wife Patricia of New Hampshire, his brothers Santo DeMauro and Mike DeMauro of Worcester, and his sister Mary Lizotte in Colorado. He is also survived by his grandchildren, great- grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his former wife Jane (Partridge) DeMauro, his brothers Patsy and James DeMauro, and his sisters Lucille Rano and Geraldine Shemeligian. Joseph was born in Worcester and was the son of the late Santo and Beatrice (Macisso) DeMauro. He served his nation proudly in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1957.

Joe owned and operated Joe De’s Sports Pub in Worcester for many years before his well-deserved retirement. He had previously tended bar at the Italian Kitchen in Worcester and the Worcester Airport Lounge. Joe gave generously to many charities throughout his life.

His family will hold a small, private service for close family in his honor. The family is asking that donations be made to Paralyzed Veterans of America at https://secure.pva.org for anyone desiring to honor Joseph.
