Joseph A. Franchi

Joseph Anthony Franchi, 72, of Worcester passed away peacefully on February 24, 2025, surrounded by his loving family in Naples, Florida. Born on September 1, 1952, in Worcester, to the late Anthony J. and Cosima (Leo) Franchi. 

He is survived by his beloved wife, Rosemarie Candito-Franchi; his devoted son, Michael Joseph Franchi, his daughter in-law, Kayla, and his cherished granddaughter Katarina; his brothers, Deacon John (Jack) Franchi and his wife Nancy, and Rocco and his wife Susan. His loving daughter, Gina Marie, who predeceased him.

Joe dedicated forty years of his career to various roles at the Upper Blackstone Clean Water, most recently serving as a Systems Engineer retiring in December 2012. Beyond his professional life, Joe was passionate about his family, with whom he loved spending time. He enjoyed traveling, driving his sports car, and wintering in Naples, Florida, a place he cherished for its warmth and beauty. Joe took pride in maintaining his yard, ensuring that his grass and flower beds were always impeccably maintained. 

Joe’s life was a testament to his commitment to his family, his work ethic, and his deep appreciation for life’s simple pleasures. Whether it was the joy he found in helping others or his dedication to providing for those he loved, Joe’s presence left a mark on all who knew him. His legacy of love, kindness, and steadfast dedication will continue to inspire and be cherished by family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.

Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours on Monday, March 10, 2025 from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm immediately followed by his funeral service at 12:30 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester. Burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St Jude’s Children’s Hospital or the American Cancer Society in Joe’s honor.
