Joseph P. Genduso, III, 63, of Auburn passed away at home, surrounded by loved ones Sunday, October 21, 2018, joining in heaven his mother, Eileen M. Genduso who passed away in 2015.
Joseph was born in Worcester, December 27th, 1954, one of five children of retired Worcester Police Detective Joseph P. Genduso, Jr. and the late Eileen M. (Johnson) Genduso. Raised in the Burncoat area of Worcester, he graduated from Burncoat High School and has lived in Worcester most of his life before moving to Auburn over 5 years ago. Joseph worked for the University of Massachusetts Medical Center before retiring due to illness.
Joseph had an amazing family who supported him through all life’s challenges. His wife, children, father and siblings were always there when he needed help. He is survived by his devoted wife, of over 43 years, Sandra S. (Hassett) Genduso; his three children; Joseph P. Genduso, IV and his wife Kimberly in Virginia, Matthew Genduso and his wife Alexandra of Worcester and Anthony Genduso and his wife Jennifer of Webster; his father Joseph P. Genduso, Jr. of Worcester; four siblings he truly loved and who loved him, Linda Levasseur and her husband Edward of Dudley, Tina M. Medenis and her husband Stephen of Palm City Florida, Steven M. Genduso and his wife Sandi of Worcester and Thomas Genduso of Millbury; eight grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Joe loved sports especially watching the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. He enjoyed crossword puzzles and listening to Elvis music.
A period of calling hours will be held Wednesday, October 24th from 9:30 am to 11:00 am in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St followed by a service at 11:00 am. Burial will follow next to his mother, Eileen in St John Cemetery.
