Joseph B. Girardi, 54, of Worcester passed away Wednesday, September 25th, 2024, with the family he loved gathered at his bedside, after suffering a medical emergency. He joins in heaven his best friend and father, Biagio Girardi who passed away in 2018.
Joseph was born in Corigliano Calabro, provincia di Cosenza Italy, the son of Italian immigrants, Antoinetta “Maria” (Tempesta) Girardi and the late, Biagio Girardi. Joseph, his sister, and his parents immigrated to the U.S. and settled in Worcester. He graduated from St Peter-Marian HS where he played soccer and then continued his education at Nichols College. Joseph then founded and served as president of Girardi Construction Company for the past 20 years, designing, constructing and renovating any types of projects all over New England.
He is survived by his mother, Antoinetta; his sister, Giuliana Girardi Romeo of Worcester; his niece and goddaughter, Arianna Romeo and nephew, Dante Romeo; Many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and friends, both here in the USA and back in Italy.
Joe was a member of Our Lady of Mt Carmel/Loreto Parish. He loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing in the mountains of New Hampshire and Maine, traveling back to Calabria Italy to visit family, and riding his motorcycle. Joseph was very close to his dad and found great joy gardening, making wine and soppressata, and watching soccer with him, their favorite team being “Juventus”. His bright smile, smart mind and kind heart will be sorely missed.
