Joseph J. Hamilton, 78, of Worcester, passed away on Friday, April 26, 2019, surrounded by his loving family.
Joseph is survived by the love of his life and soul mate for the past forty-three years, Margo L. Bergstrom; their daughter, Cindy R. Cloutier and her fiancé George Brigham of Millbury; four grandchildren, Jonathan Mahoney and his girl friend Ally Derosier, Brianna, Kaylee, and Nicole Cloutier; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers and a sister, James W, Jerry, and Thomas Hamilton, and Rita Sweet. Joseph was born in Worcester, son of the late, Jeremiah J. and Julia A. (Patsky) Hamilton, and has lived here all his life.
He worked as an automobile assembler for General Motors at their Framingham Plant, until their closing in the early 1990’s. He loved to golf in his retirement and was a member at Clearview Country Club. He enjoyed working around his house and gardens, where he could showcase his handiwork. He also loved to solve puzzles and crossword puzzles.
Joe will be remembered as a loving man, always wanting to help others.
Calling Hours for Joe will be on Tuesday, April 30, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. His Funeral will be on Wednesday, May 1, from the funeral home, departing at 9:40 a.m., in procession, for a 10 a.m. Funeral Mass at Saint John’s Church, 44 Temple Street, Worcester. Interment will follow in Saint John’s Cemetery, Worcester.
