Joseph T. Leto, III, 77, of Boylston passed away surrounded by loved ones on February 21, 2024.
Joseph was born January 28, 1947, in Worcester to Joseph T. Jr. and Helen “Alice” (Teso) Leto. He lived and worked in Worcester for many years before moving to Boylston with his wife Nancy.
After working for the WRTA for over 30 years, Joe transitioned to retirement and enjoyed spending summers at Leto Villa in Wells, Maine. He greatly appreciated being in the company of family and friends, especially when they could share meals and celebrate holidays together. Joe also loved to garden, particularly bright flowers and potted tomatoes. He could frequently be found watering his “lawn” when in Maine.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy J. (Burns) Leto; his two daughters, Patricia Leto and Corrina Poole and her husband Richard; his grandchild, Byron Poole; his sisters, Camille Leto and Rose Ellen Godin and her husband Steve; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Joseph was predeceased by his siblings, Anthony Leto, Michael Leto, Helen Leto, and Joanne Fallstrom.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, from 9:30am to 11:00am at MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Funeral Service will begin at 11:00am with interment to follow at Rural Cemetery, Worcester.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Joseph’s memory to the American Cancer Society or COPD Foundation.
