Worcester, Ma

Joseph P. Lombardi, 86, of Worcester, formerly Burlington, MA, passed away with his beloved wife of 20 years, Frances at his bedside, Wednesday, December 11, 2024, after a period of declining health.

Joe graduated from North High School, class of 1956, notably a championship standout football player, who was also recognized in the Worcester telegram and Gazette. He then earned his degree in construction management from Central New England College. Joe then owned and operated his own construction company many years before retiring and also managing several area night spots including the former “Starlight lounge”.

Joe leaves behind, the “Love of his life”, wife, partner and soulmate, of 20 years, Atty Frances A. King, Esq; a son, John Lombardi, and daughter Dina Lombardi both on Long Island, NY and a beloved stepson Anthony Milani III of Worcester; the apple of his eye and cherished granddaughter Livia whom he was so proud of as she started college this year; a brother, Robert Lombardi, two sisters, Deborah Recore and Patricia Occhuzzio; nieces, nephews, extended family and his pet dog, “Milo”. In addition to his parents, Joseph’s other pet and best friend Siberian husky, “Hercules” predeceased him.

Joe was a beautiful human being, loving, caring and full of life. He was a member of the Brown Square Civic Club, and an avid sports fan, especially the New England Patriots. Joe was also a huge horse racing fan, a gifted handicapper, following specifics of the horses, such as blood lines and training. He loved history, whether it was locally, the civil war, or the World Wars. Joe and Frances were regular patrons of the Sole Proprietor, vacationers in Delray beach Florida, Aruba, and the Casinos. After a medical incident, his quality of life was all due to the care, devotion and love he had from Frances, his stepson Anthony, friends Denise and Bill O’Connell, and his devoted PCA worker Joanne Caraballo, He will be dearly missed.
