Joseph A. Monfette III passed away Monday, September 10, 2018 from injuries suffered in a
motorcycle accident.
Joe was born on July 10, 1960, to Joseph A. Monfette Jr. and Lorraine (Cariglio) Monfette.
Raised and educated in Worcester, Joe joined the U.S, Air Force after high school serving his
country proudly in Massachusetts and on two deployment tours before retiring after 20 years as
a Tech SGT. In civilian life, Joe worked as a lineman, first with the Town of Shrewsbury SELCO
company and then for the Phoenix Corporation.
Joe is survived by his daughter, Christina Monfette and her fiancé Mack Martin of Fresno,
California; his son Joseph Monfette, IV and his fiancée Brittney LaVigne; his parents Joseph A.
Monfette, Jr. and Lorraine (Cariglio) Monfette of Worcester; a brother, Michael Monfette and his
wife Lisa Monfette in Clarence, New York; his nephew, Zachary; and his fiancée Lisa Bisceglia.
Joseph was a Harley Davidson motorcycle enthusiast. He loved the outdoors, especially
National Parks, camping, and the beach. He loved the New England Patriots and spending time
with his family. Joe touched the hearts of everyone he met and his passing leaves a hole in all
our lives.
Friends and relatives are invited to calling hours Thursday, September 13 th from 4:00 pm to 7:00
pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. His Mass of
Christian burial will be celebrated Friday September 14 th from the funeral home with a
procession to Our Lady of Loreto church, 37 Massasoit Rd where his mass will be held at 10:30
am. Burial will follow at 1:00 pm in Massachusetts Veterans Cemetery in Winchendon. In lieu
of flowers, memorial remembrances in his name can be made to the Vets Inc., 60 Grove St
