Joseph R. Simo

Joseph Simo, 64, of Worcester.  Joseph passed away with family by his side on Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at Rose Monahan Hospice Home, after fighting two cancers simultaniously, for five years.

Joe is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl (Goulet) Simo; his son and best friend, Anthony Simo; two sisters, Marie Arduini and Tina Bergevin; many nieces and nephews.

Joe was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Ruth (Lundblad); a brother, Richard; two sisters, Ginny Roberge and Angela Dulmaine; and by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Paul and Shirley Goulet.

Joe worked for twenty years at WPI in Worcester and for the latter twelve of those years, he also worked at Leicester Country Club, leaving due to illness.  Joe attended North High School and then served his nation proudly in the Army National Guard.

He was an avid golfer and enjoyed countless golf trips with “the guys” to Florida and Myrtle Beach.  He loved his summers in Maine, and before his illness, Joe also loved his coffee and a great cigar.

Joe’s family would love to thank his team at Dana Farber in Milford, Dr. Michael Constantine, Lori, PA, Megan, PA, Jamie, RN, and his infusion nurse, Diane.

Calling Hours for Joe will be on Saturday, December 11, from 8 a.m. until his Funeral Service begins at 10:30 a.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester.
