Juan Rosado also known as Don Lee, 88 of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 6, 2020 at Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center in Worcester.
Juan (Don Lee) was born on February 10, 1932 in Ciales, Puerto Rico, a son of the late Federico Rosado Pagan and Braulia Ortega Nieves. Before Juan moved to the states he was a farmer and later he worked as a factory worker for various companies including HH Brown Shoe Company for many years and retired in the late 1980s. Juan’s true passion was music. In his early years he enjoyed traveling with his band all over Puerto Rico, Worcester and Boston and was popular putting together “Parrandas” in Worcester and Puerto Rico with his brothers and family members throughout his life. Juan loved making “Cuatros” and “Guiros” both commonly known Puerto Rican instruments. He loved woodworking and carpentry, fishing, and was an avid Boston Red Sox fan since moving to the states in the early 1960’s. Juan also enjoyed cooking and preparing meals for his family and was always eager to cook up a “pernil” when the occasion called for it. Juan was a man of very few words, but once you had him talking, he was a great story teller. Juan's favorite pastime was repairing and playing his cuarto often accompanied by his daughter Lola. When Juan became a grandfather for the first time, his nickname of “Lee” was given to his grandson as a middle name and as a tribute to him. Juan was also known for his sense of style, always looking sharp and making sure he looked his best .
